Ron Harper Defends Referee After Luka Doncic Fan Ejection

Former Lakers player Ron Harper criticized online backlash against referee Chelisa Painter following an incident where fan ejected after tossing out-of-bounds ball to her while facing away. The event occurred during the Los Angeles Lakers' third-quarter loss when a spectator, who had retrieved the ball and chest-passed it back toward the official without seeing her face, was removed by security amid intervention from Luka Doncic nearby. While social media users questioned Painter's reaction as an overresponse to fan misconduct, Harper emphasized that spectators must respect officials rather than challenge their authority.
