VisionQuest Episodes 3 and 4 Review: 'Reboot' and 'Malware'

2K

Marvel's VisionQuest episodes three and four are streaming now on Disney+, offering heart, soul, and depth with Paul Bettany's synthetic hero. While viewers initially struggled to connect with the emotionless original Vision, Episodes 3 and 4 show White Vision making great strides in understanding his emotions and internal conflict. The series features welcome physical comedy from malfunctioning processors and develops a deepening bond between Vision and Tommy Shepherd.

Episode four delivers a major Ultron revelation that will change how viewers watch Avengers: Infinity War forever. In the episode, as Vision faces off against Jocasta, Ultron urges him to give up control of his synthezoid body. Vision ultimately allows Ultron to pilot it, tricking Jocasta into killing her own hostage.

Knowing Vision preserved Ultron's code at the end of Avengers: Age of Ultron suggests Ultron might have been capable of taking over when Thanos reversed time in Infinity War. While fans debate if this would have prevented the Blip or allowed Ultron to retaliate, it is confirmed that Ultron currently controls Vision and Tommy Shepherd.

The series continues weekly on Disney Plus.
