Kohli Returns as India Chases New Zealand's 185 in 1st ODI

Virat Kohli returned to India's 50-over lineup, helping to steady the chase against New Zealand in the first ODI at Eden Park after Rohit Sharma's early dismissal. India, having bowled out New Zealand for 185 in 40.2 overs, reached 54/1 in 10.5 overs before rain halted play. Shubman Gill, captaining India, won the toss and opted to bowl first. This series marks a crucial preparation for both teams ahead of the 2027 ODI World Cup, with India assessing key players like Kohli on bouncy surfaces.
