Military Officer Falls During UTSA Pregame Rappelling

A military officer fell from the Alamodome rafters while rappelling during a pregame demonstration before the University of San Antonio Roadrunners football game against Navy. Witnesses reported that three other officers were part of the Salute to Armed Forces and Veterans night event when one member began descending rapidly around 7 p.m., causing the band to stop playing as staff rushed to assist him on the field. The officer was transported to a hospital, but his condition remains unknown at this time. KSAT has contacted UTSA athletics for updates without yet receiving a response.
