US National Parks Increase Fees for Foreign Tourists from 2026
Starting January 2026, US National Parks will raise entrance fees for international visitors at eleven of the most popular parks, including Yellowstone, Yosemite, and the Grand Canyon. The additional fee will be $100 (approximately 86 euros) per person, applicable to visitors aged 16 and above, on top of the regular entrance fee of about $15 to $20. The annual pass for foreign tourists will also increase from $80 to roughly $250 (217 euros), while US citizens and residents will continue to pay $80 annually. This measure follows a decree by President Donald Trump, emphasizing the 'America First' policy, aiming to ensure fair contribution from international visitors for park maintenance and preservation. The parks experienced a record 331.9 million visitors in 2024. The fee increases are part of broader efforts to fund conservation and infrastructure, despite recent government plans to cut park service budgets by over a third, which has already led to staff reductions and operational limitations in some parks.
