The Western Pacific is experiencing a rare clustering event as three storms—Typhoon Choi-wan, Typhoon Nolo, and Tropical Storm Koguma—are active simultaneously in October. This marks the first occurrence in five years for this many systems to exist at once during that month, according to the Japan Weather Association. While these distinct weather patterns are generating high waves around parts of Japan between October 10 and 12, local forecasts indicate a low probability of direct impact on South Korea.
