Tyler ISD Foundation Grants Boost Classroom Innovation Across 17 Campuses
The Tyler ISD Foundation awarded 22 grants to educators across 17 campuses in Tyler, Texas, as part of its annual Grants for Great Ideas program. Surprising teachers with funding in classrooms and hallways, the Foundation aims to support innovative, hands-on learning projects that enhance student achievement. Since 1990, the Foundation has invested over $4.1 million in Tyler ISD classrooms, funding projects such as classroom transformation kits and 3D printing technology. Suzette Farr, the Foundation’s executive director, emphasized that these grants help teachers bring new ideas to life and meet essential classroom needs not always covered by funding. The grant patrol, which includes district leaders and community partners, celebrates creativity and forward-thinking in education, with many students and staff participating in the festivities. The Foundation's goal is to foster engaging learning experiences and support educational excellence in the district.
