FBI Arrests Four in California Plot to Detonate Pipe Bombs on New Year’s Eve
The FBI and Justice Department have arrested four individuals in the Los Angeles area for allegedly planning a coordinated bomb attack on New Year’s Eve. The suspects—Audrey Ilene Carroll, Dante Garfield, Zachary Aaron Page, and Tina Lai—are members of the extremist group Turtle Island Liberation Front, which holds anti-government and pro-Palestinian views. According to court documents, the group planned to plant complex pipe bombs at five locations across Los Angeles, with detailed instructions on bomb-making, security precautions, and alibi strategies such as using burner phones and streaming movies. The group also tested explosive devices in the Mojave Desert. The FBI states the suspects intended to target U.S. companies but did not aim to kill people, claiming they would warn anyone in the vicinity. The arrests are linked to efforts to combat far-left extremist threats, with authorities emphasizing the danger posed by radicalized groups like this one.
