Trey Kaufman-Renn Joins Kansas Ahead of 2026-27 Season
Kansas men's basketball has signed Trey Kaufman-Renn, a former Purdue forward known as an experienced frontcourt scorer. The announcement came Monday after the Jayhawks confirmed he had enrolled in classes and began practicing with the team.
Kaufman-Renn joins Kansas eligible for the upcoming season under court terms that allow him to pursue another year of eligibility while his NCAA case continues. He arrives following five seasons at Purdue, where he averaged 14.2 points, 8.3 rebounds, and 2.5 assists per game in his final campaign.
Coach Bill Self noted Kaufman-Renn's experience reaching the national championship game, Elite Eight, and Sweet Sixteen during his time with the Boilermakers. The signing addresses a roster vacancy created by freshman forward Grant Mordini, who suffered a season-ending patellar tendon injury last month.
