Nebraska Adds Transfer OL Tree Babalade from South Carolina

Nebraska has announced the addition of offensive lineman Tree Babalade from South Carolina via the transfer portal. Babalade, a 6-foot-5, 330-pound junior, has played 22 games with 15 starts over his three-year college career, primarily at tackle. He previously started nine games in the 2023 season and played a total of 623 snaps that year. Babalade is known for his pass-blocking ability, with a high grade of 68.5, and has demonstrated versatility at both tackle positions. He reunites with former South Carolina coach Lonnie Teasley, now Nebraska's run game coordinator, who coached him at South Carolina. Babalade is the second offensive lineman Nebraska has added from the transfer portal, joining Brendan Black from Iowa State. The coaching staff, led by new offensive line coach Geep Wade and Teasley, aims to strengthen the line, which currently has key returning players including center Justin Evans and left tackle Elijah Pritchett. Babalade's experience and familiarity with Teasley are expected to bolster Nebraska's offensive line as they prepare for the upcoming season.
