Netflix has announced the upcoming release of a three-part docuseries titled 'Reality Check: Inside America's Next Top Model,' premiering on February 16. The series offers an unprecedented look behind the scenes of the iconic reality TV show 'America's Next Top Model,' which aired for 24 seasons from 2003 to 2018 and was hosted by Tyra Banks. The documentary features interviews with Banks, former judges Jay Manuel, J. Alexander, Nigel Barker, and contestants including Whitney Thompson, Dani Evans, and Giselle Samson. It explores the show's controversial moments, such as ethnic ethnicity swaps in photo shoots, body shaming, toxic beauty standards, and allegations of inappropriate behavior. Banks reflects on her own role, stating, 'I knew I went too far,' and discusses the show's demanding nature. The series also examines the departure of key judges in 2012 and the show's legacy, which at its peak drew over 100 million viewers worldwide. Directed by Mor Loushy and Daniel Sivan, the documentary aims to reveal both the successes and the problematic aspects of the influential modeling competition.
