A former Hudson elementary school teacher, Madison Bergmann, was sentenced to six years in prison for sexually abusing an 11-year-old student. Bergmann, 26, pleaded guilty to charges including child enticement with sexual contact and sexual misconduct by school staff, with her sentences to be served concurrently. The case emerged in May 2024 when parents discovered their child exchanging inappropriate messages with Bergmann, leading to her arrest. Investigations revealed over 35,000 text messages exchanged between Bergmann and the victim, involving kissing, touching, and sexual contact. Bergmann was a fifth-grade teacher at River Crest Elementary School at the time of the offenses. She will serve six years of extended supervision post-incarceration, with restrictions on contact with the victim and minors, and must register as a sex offender.
