Honda Recalls Over 256,000 Vehicles for Software Flaw Causing Power Loss

Honda is recalling approximately 256,603 Honda Accord Hybrid vehicles from model years 2023 to 2025 in the United States due to a software flaw that can cause the vehicle's internal control module to reset while driving. This issue may lead to a sudden loss of power, increasing the risk of accidents. The recall was announced by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and confirmed by Honda, which will reprogram the affected vehicles' software free of charge. Honda owners will be notified by mail starting January 5, 2026, and can also check their vehicle status on NHTSA.gov or contact Honda customer service. This recall follows previous Honda recalls this month, including over 406,000 vehicles for wheel detachment issues and over 259,000 vehicles for brake pedal defects. Honda emphasizes the importance of timely repairs to ensure vehicle safety.
