Netflix Unveils 'The Widower' Documentary Covering Six Wives

1K

A new Netflix documentary titled "The Widower: 'Til Death Do Us Part" features archived footage and interviews regarding the case of convicted felon Thomas Randolph. According to Dateline producer Dan Slepian, who frequently interviewed Randolph before his conviction, the man displayed charm that allowed him to navigate within the criminal justice system while four of his six wives died over two decades. The documentary includes recordings where Randolph flirted with cameras and questioned whether he was beautiful or if viewers wanted names for all his fiancées. Slepian noted that the scrutiny against Randolph felt like a badge of honor, contrasting this behavior with other cases involving people who scream into the wind without being heard. Netflix's production unearths police records, homicide investigation details, conversations with two ex-wives and close contacts, as well as allegations that Randolph took out multiple insurance policies on his wives, filmed one wife detailing her wishes regarding remains, and allegedly sought a hitman for several of them.
