500

The Old Farmer's Almanac released its weather forecast for Thanksgiving Day on November 26, 2026. The outlook predicts a mix of snow, rain, and sunshine across the United States with conditions expected to change as the holiday approaches.

Snow is forecast in several regions including the Upper Midwest, Lower Lakes area (covering Buffalo, Cleveland, Detroit, and Chicago), Alaska, the Northeast, the Atlantic Corridor, Appalachians, and Ohio Valley. Temperatures are projected to be colder than normal in parts of central New England through the Appalachians.

Rain is expected across much of the East on Thanksgiving Day itself, particularly in the Southeast and Florida where temperatures will remain warm. The Panhandle region in Alaska may also experience rain alongside mild conditions.

Historical data indicates that while a mostly mild winter is predicted for most of the country, measurable snowfall often arrives between mid-November and mid-December in major Northeast cities.
