Dodgers Outfielder Calls for Removal of Sydney Sweeney 'Soft Porn' Ads

1K

Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Alex Call has publicly demanded that Major League Baseball remove advertisements he describes as "soft porn" from playoff broadcasts. In a social media post, Call expressed concern that parents should not have to worry about seeing content such as scenes featuring Sydney Sweeney and Megan Fox while watching games with their children. The controversy centers on specific commercials airing across platforms like TBS, Fox, and NBC during the postseason.

One notable advertisement features Sweeney promoting a sports prediction market called Novig; Call noted that her portrayal involves using equipment to cover herself while otherwise appearing nude in zero clothes. Another ad highlighted by fans includes footage of Megan Fox selling ED pills inside a red bodysuit. These spots have already faced criticism from several female athletes, including Sophie Cunningham.

Baseball fan Taylor Murphy initially sparked the discussion on X (formerly Twitter), suggesting that to increase viewership among children, leagues should improve their commercial content rather than relying on provocative imagery like "the scariest movie trailer you've ever seen." Call supported this sentiment by stating his own son wanted to watch a game with him but found himself trying to justify half-naked women appearing on screen. While Call is currently not on the Dodgers' active roster for the NL Championship Series, he remains affiliated with the team and has been playing in postseason games during 2025.
