Dylan Sprouse Claims Only Five-Cent Residual From Suite Life

Actor Dylan Sprouse revealed on his Wildmen podcast that he received only a single residual check for The Suite Life of Zack & Cody, which amounted to five cents. Speaking about the show's financial treatment during its 2005-2008 run, Sprouse noted it was one of television's most popular programs yet earned virtually no ongoing compensation. He contrasted this with other hits like The Sopranos and highlighted that his castmates filmed up to thirty episodes in a single year without receiving additional payments for the extra work. Despite describing Disney as treating them like an "ugly duckling" while ignoring their popularity, Sprouse expressed gratitude for lifelong friendships formed on set.
