Ottawa Senators Recall and Debut of Stephen Halliday Amid Injuries and Road Trip

The Ottawa Senators have recalled forward Stephen Halliday and defenseman Lassi Thomson from their AHL affiliate, Belleville Senators, as they prepare for a seven-game Western Conference road trip starting November 20, 2025. Halliday, who leads Belleville in scoring with 16 points in 15 games and has a career total of 72 points in 96 AHL games, is set to make his NHL debut, filling in for injured players Ridly Greig, Brady Tkachuk, and Thomas Chabot. Thomson, a solid two-way defender with 4 points in 15 games this season, will also serve as depth. Halliday, a 23-year-old fourth-round pick in 2022, previously scored 77 points in 78 games at Ohio State University and has yet to debut in the NHL. Thomson, a first-round pick in 2019, has 5 assists in 18 NHL games and 97 points in 217 AHL games. The team’s recent updates include Brady Tkachuk returning to practice after thumb surgery and the return of Dennis Gilbert to Ottawa. The Senators' lineup adjustments come as they prepare for their upcoming games, with Halliday expected to add playmaking to the bottom-six forward group, and Thomson providing defensive support.
