Singapore Night Festival 2025: Unique Experiences from Kampung to Luminous Crabs and Cultural Performances
Singapore Night Festival 2025, running from August 22 to September 6 at Bras Basah.Bugis, offers over 80 diverse experiences celebrating Singapore’s island and maritime heritage. The theme, Island Nights, encourages visitors to slow down and reflect amidst the vibrant festivities. Highlights include Kampong Chill, an art installation by Yok and Sheryo promoting rest and mindfulness; Sky Castle, featuring inflatable arches that produce musical notes and vibrant visuals; Cyberswordfish V2.0, a sculpture reimagining swordfish as cyberpunk creatures made from electronic waste; and Jiwa Laut, luminous crab sculptures inspired by Southeast Asian folklore. Projection mapping at the National Museum and CHIJMES showcases celestial and cultural motifs, while street performances, puppet shows, and festival villages add to the lively atmosphere. The Peranakan Museum hosts Paradise Island, a cultural festival with traditional food, art installations, workshops, and live performances, emphasizing the preservation of Peranakan culture with a modern twist. Other activities include immersive storytelling, craft workshops, and a series of experimental music performances at Fort Canning Hill’s Battlebox. Organised by HeritageSG, the event aims to foster regional collaboration and showcase Singapore’s rich cultural identity during its 60th independence anniversary.
