Beamer: Dylan Stewart Will Return When He Is Ready

South Carolina head coach Shane Beamer confirmed on Tuesday, September 29, who determines when star edge rusher Dylan Stewart returns from suspension. "Me," Beamer stated while answering questions at a press conference. The former five-star recruit was suspended indefinitely by the Gamecocks following multiple incidents against Alabama in Week 4, including punching tight end Josh Ford and ignoring coaching instructions during viral moments on social media. While South Carolina and the SEC agreed to suspend Stewart for one game due to "egregious contact," Beamer announced an indefinite suspension after emotional conversations with him. The coach emphasized that he does not condone any of Stewart's actions, acknowledging the negative attention brought upon himself while hoping the young player learns from the situation.
