Celebrating Eid al-Adha 2025: Religious Reflections, Community Activities, and Social Solidarity

The Eid al-Adha 2025 celebrations in Kudus and surrounding areas featured significant religious sermons, community sacrifices, and social activities. Ustadz Ali Zamroni from Muhammadiyah Kudus emphasized the importance of sincerity, faith, and obedience during the Eid khutbah at Rendeng Field, urging Muslims to emulate Prophet Ibrahim's unwavering faith and sacrifice, as depicted in the Quranic stories of Ibrahim and Ismail. He highlighted that the core of Qurban (sacrifice) is spiritual devotion rather than just physical acts, with a focus on taqwa (piety) and sincerity, supported by references from Surah As-Shaffat and Al-Hajj. The sermon called for social solidarity, encouraging the distribution of sacrificial meat to those in need, and warned against neglecting this duty, citing Hadiths from Prophet Muhammad. Community leaders, including the local government, actively participated by distributing sacrificial animals at the Masjid Agung Kudus after Eid prayers. The event was marked by orderly and meaningful prayers attended by many. Additionally, other activities included the opening of the Kudus Muallaf Centre to support new Muslim converts with spiritual guidance, and the celebration of local achievements such as the recognition of religious educators and preparations for the upcoming Hajj pilgrimage, with 1,416 pilgrims completing their final practices. The festivities also included cultural and social events, with a focus on moderation and unity, as reflected in the awards for religious moderation and the promotion of spiritual education through books and mobile applications. The overall celebration of Eid al-Adha 2025 emphasized themes of devotion, sacrifice, community service, and social responsibility, reinforcing the spiritual and social values of this important Islamic holiday.
