Santos Stadium Capacity Drops to R$72M Modernization

Vila Belmiro will host the Bahia match with reduced capacity due to modernization works that have closed part of the side stands, though the Cosmo Damião grandstand remains fully operational. The historic stadium is undergoing a major renovation estimated at $106 million (R$72 million), which includes lowering seating levels in the old Visa sector and main stand to enhance fan proximity to the field. A new mini-shopping area with food courts, bars, and restrooms will be created near Rua Dom Pedro to serve both fans and passersby. While ticket sales for the upcoming match begin this Thursday for members starting Friday for others, construction is expected to finish by late 2026 using a $143 million investment fund funded through box seat revenue.
