Samsung shuts down built-in News app on Galaxy devices by end of year

The Samsung News application, which launched in 2023 to provide daily news and sports updates on Galaxy phones and tablets, is being discontinued. A notice within the app announced that the service will cease operations on December 21 or December 31, 2026, depending on the region. Following shutdown, all user data, profiles, and personalization information will be deleted unless local laws mandate temporary retention. Samsung has not yet confirmed what feature will replace this built-in news feed.
