FDA Upgrades Salad Dressing Recall to Highest Risk Level
1K
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has elevated a recall of Salata Salad Kitchen's Jalapeño Avocado Dressing from Class II to the highest risk level, Class I. The FDA classification indicates a reasonable probability that exposure will cause serious health consequences or death due to potential Salmonella contamination in diced jalapeños supplied by Coast Citrus Distributors. Approximately 1,724 cases distributed across Georgia, North Carolina, and Texas were affected between July 8 and November 25, 2026. This specific outbreak is linked to a broader issue that has sickened at least 431 people in 32 states.
