Portugal's abrupt departure of Cristiano Ronaldo has forced a rearrangement in their squad numbers, as the national team is required to allocate jersey 1 through 23 without gaps. According to FIFA international regulations, when an active player leaves the roster before a match registration, his number must be reassigned immediately. Consequently, Rafael Leao was selected to wear Cristiano Ronaldo's iconic No. 7 shirt for the upcoming game against Denmark in the UEFA Nations League.
