Quebec Liberal Party Leadership Shakeup: Rizqy Suspended and Firing of Chief of Staff
Marwah Rizqy, a Member of the National Assembly for Pontiac, has been suspended from the Quebec Liberal caucus and removed from her role as parliamentary leader following a breach of trust, according to party leader Pablo Rodriguez. Rizqy was appointed parliamentary leader in June but was replaced by André Fortin amid internal conflicts. The suspension coincides with Rizqy's recent firing of her chief of staff, Geneviève Hinse, reportedly due to personality clashes and without Rodriguez's consultation. The party stated that these measures are necessary to maintain caucus cohesion and proper functioning. Rizqy's departure comes after her close association with Rodriguez, who recruited her in 2015, and her support for his leadership campaign. The party has appointed Fortin as the new parliamentary leader and Marc Tanguay as party whip.
