Purdue Team Seeks Answers in Nikumaroro Lagoon

Researchers are searching for Amelia Earhart's missing plane off Nikumaroro Island, a remote South Pacific location. An expedition led by Purdue University began its search on the island after noticing an unusual object visible in satellite imagery since 2020. The team is focused on inspecting what they call the Taraia Object within a lagoon near the coast. Although stormy weather hindered their initial efforts, experts believe they will have definitive answers about whether this object relates to Earhart's Lockheed Electra plane within days.
