Netflix Cuts 1,000 Jobs as Part of Major Workforce Reduction

500

Netflix announced the elimination of approximately 1,000 positions, representing a six percent reduction across its workforce. Co-CEOs Ted Sarandos and Greg Peters stated that most affected employees work in product, technology, legal, and human resources teams. The company cited the need to prioritize people and resources while maintaining ambitious entertainment goals. Despite recent double-digit growth in revenue and profits for 2025 with over 325 million global customers, leadership noted concerns regarding user engagement slowing in early 2026. Sarandos and Peters affirmed that Netflix remains on track to meet its full-year financial forecast, projecting $51 billion to $51.4 billion in revenue and a thirty-one point five percent operating margin for the upcoming year.
