Fast Food Chains Offer Deals for National Cheeseburger Day

National Cheeseburgers are celebrated on Friday as one of America's most popular dishes. According to YouGov, 84% of Americans hold a positive opinion of cheeseburgers, tied with hamburgers and behind only grilled cheese sandwiches and french fries in popularity rankings.

Americans consumed an average of 20 cheeseburgers from foodservice establishments over the 12-month period ending July 2026. Men eat more cheeseburgers than women according to research firm Circana CREST tracking data.

Burger King offers free bacon cheeseburgers with a $3 minimum purchase on Friday, September 18 for members of its Royal Perks loyalty program. McDonald's is offering free Double Cheeseburgers on September 18 via the app and MyMcDonald's Rewards program to customers who make at least a $1 purchase.

Wendy's provided similar deals last year with their bacon cheeseburger promotion.
