Valkyries Coach Natalie Nakase Collapses Mid-Game Then Continues

Golden State Valkyries head coach Natalie Nakase briefly collapsed to the floor during a timeout with 1:40 remaining in their dramatic 77–73 victory over the Dallas Wings on Friday night. While speaking with referees about a call involving star player Gabby Williams, Nakase fell and was helped up by assistant coaches who held her head while she returned to the huddle immediately to draw plays for the team's comeback.

Nakase remained on the bench for the remainder of the game but appeared unwell again after the final buzzer. She required assistance from staff members as she walked away, rubbing her temple and side during postgame handshakes with opposing coach Jose Fernandez. Despite the incident, Valkyries assistant Kasib Powell stated Nakase was "fine" and in great spirits.

Teammate Gabby Williams confirmed to reporters that their head coach is okay following the event. The Valkyries advanced to face the Las Vegas Aces on Sunday after securing this playoff series.
