Travis County Sets Midterm Early Voting Record

Nearly 41,000 residents in Travis County cast ballots on the first day of early voting for the Nov. 3 midterm election, surpassing every prior record for a midterm this century according to state officials. The turnout rate reached approximately 4.3% of registered voters, significantly higher than previous midterms in 2018 and 2022. County Clerk Dyana Limon-Mercado attributed the success to expanded polling locations, increased hours including weekends, and efforts to create a highly accessible voting process for the community.
