Oregon's Messiah Hampton Arrested for Eluding Police

Messiah Hampton, a freshman wide receiver for the Oregon Ducks, was arrested and booked in Lane County Jail facing charges of reckless driving and eluding police following a high-speed chase on October 18. The incident occurred early morning hours after a game against Nebraska; Springfield Police pursued two vehicles but abandoned the operation due to safety concerns. Hampton is identified as the driver of one vehicle found near where teammate Evan Stewart was later arrested for DUI, though officials state Stewart and tight end Jamari Johnson are not suspects in this case. As of Friday night at 7:22 p.m., Hampton had been released from jail.
