Nebraska sells stadium urinals as Indiana rematch approaches

The University of Nebraska is marketing game-used urinal troughs from Memorial Stadium to fans who wish to show their commitment to the Cornhuskers, a move described by critics as an ironic attempt to monetize the team's lingering reputation for poor performance. While Nebraska has improved its standing in several football rankings after winning seven consecutive games against ranked opponents, it remains 0-9 under coach Matt Rhule specifically when facing top-tier competition, losing those contests by an average of 18 points per game.

The Huskers are set to face defending national champion Indiana on Saturday at Memorial Stadium. This matchup is significant because Nebraska has not defeated a ranked team since 2016, marking the end of what sources describe as a thirty-one-game nightmare against elite opponents. Although the university continues its multi-billion dollar stadium renovation project and sells various memorabilia including seats and artwork alongside the urinals to generate revenue from this process, analysts note that selling fixtures will not remove the perception of bad play associated with the program.

The focus remains on whether Rhule can replicate his success at Temple University and Baylor before moving into Lincoln. Nebraska volleyball is also preparing for two upcoming Big Ten matchups against ranked opponents in Indiana and Wisconsin. The athletic department aims to end its long losing streak against quality teams, though financial strategies like selling stadium remnants do not directly address the need for on-field victories.
