Actresses Andie MacDowell, Leighton Meester, and actor Jared Padalecki will star in the upcoming Netflix holiday romantic comedy 'The Bodyguard,' filming in High River on December 4-6. The film, directed by Elizabeth Allen Rosenbaum and based on Katherine Center’s 2022 novel, is set in Montana. Padalecki portrays Jack Stapleton, a Hollywood star visiting his family’s ranch, who is protected by bodyguard Hannah Brooks, played by Meester, after being stalked. Jack asks Hannah to pose as his girlfriend to hide the stalker threat from his mother. MacDowell's role has not been disclosed. The filming coincides with the town’s Santa Claus Parade on December 5, where one star may participate in the parade, possibly singing on a float. Road closures are planned along MacLeod Trail SW and 1 Street SW, with additional parking suggestions provided. The town is seeking volunteers and float registrations for the event.
