Tony Schumacher Signs Multi-Year Deal With Tony Stewart Racing
Eight-time NHRA world champion Tony Schumacher has signed a multi-year agreement to drive for Tony Stewart Racing (TSR) beginning with the 2027 season. The announcement comes as Leah Pruett steps away from full-time competition to focus on raising her son, Dominic, and growing their family alongside team owner husband Tony Stewart.
Pruett stated that while she has enjoyed her career at TSR, prioritizing her child is now more important for both of them. She expressed excitement about Schumacher taking over the driving duties in 2027, describing him as one of the most decorated racers in NHRA history and confident he can continue pushing the team forward.
Schumacher described the deal as a long-term home that fell into place perfectly after several years of building. Pruett recently returned to competition following her son's birth, entering this weekend's Great Lakes Nationals third in championship standings.
