Killeen Independent School District (KISD) has announced that the bidding process for two vacant elementary school properties will conclude next month. The properties include the former Clifton Park Elementary School at 2200 Trimmier Road and Sugar Loaf Elementary School at 1517 Barbara Lane. Bids are accepted until 2 p.m. on January 13 through KISD’s purchasing website. The Clifton Park site features a 51,060-square-foot main building from 1964 and a physical education building from 2011, valued at nearly $1.57 million. The Sugar Loaf property, with a 62,303-square-foot building from 1965, is valued at $1.99 million. KISD’s broker for Clifton Park is Jim Wright Company, while Linnemann Realty handles Sugar Loaf. The district closed and consolidated these schools in 2021, and currently uses Clifton Park for custodial training. Selling these properties could save the district approximately $300,000 annually. The district has also considered selling other properties like Bellaire Elementary, with updates expected early next year.
