Chivas Retains Kevin Castañeda and Jordan Carrillo for Next Season

Despite poor performance during the Apertura 2026 season, Club Deportivo Guadalajara (Chivas) has decided to keep both midfielder Kevin Castañeda and defender Jordan Carrillo on its roster. Reports indicate that while neither player met initial expectations or secured starting positions in their first half of the year, Chivas intends for them to remain with the team rather than sell either via transfer or loan. Coach Gabriel Milito is reportedly giving Castañeda more training opportunities following a recent knee injury recovery, hoping he can contribute during the upcoming 2027 season which includes Liga MX and CONCACAF Champions Cup matches.
