While Matt Floca, the center's executive director backed by Trump, claimed temporary closures were necessary due to severe structural deterioration, Joyce Beatty argued that such actions could lead to a permanent shutdown without court permission. Judge Cooper also authorized discovery regarding President Trump's statement and social media photos depicting him near signs referencing demolition.
