Kerolin returns to Brazil squad in record jersey number
Brazilian striker Kerolin has been cleared to return for the national team's second friendly match against Argentina on Tuesday. She completed her suspension during a previous victory over the United States and is set to wear the iconic number 10, historically owned by Marta. Since July, when she was sold from Manchester City to Barcelona for €1.2 million (approximately R$7 million), Kerolin has become the most expensive Brazilian athlete in history as well as both the highest-paid player at her new club and the record-breaking sale of its previous team. She also holds a unique distinction regarding jersey usage, having been the sole player to wear number 10 for the national side during the entire upcoming 2026 season after wearing it twice previously out of three available international windows. In FIFA Series competitions since her debut in 2018, she has accumulated 61 appearances and scored 15 goals while earning accolades as the best athlete in a specific tournament series with two goals and two assists. Her return follows an exclusion from the first match against Argentina due to a red card shown during a chaotic game involving other players including Tarciane, Bia Zaneratto, and coach Arthur Elias.
