Josh Hokit Releases Rap Targeting Heavyweights Ahead of UFC 334

1K

UFC heavyweight contender Josh Hokit has released a new rap song titled "MSG Freestyle" to promote his upcoming title fight against Ciryl Gane at UFC 334. The track targets not only the current champion but also former champions Jon Jones and Tom Aspinall, as well as recent rivals Alex Pereira and Ilia Topuria. Hokit has rapidly advanced through the ranks since signing with Dana White's Contender Series in August 2025, earning stoppage wins over Max Gimenis and Denzel Freeman before defeating Curtis Blaydes by unanimous decision at UFC 327. He followed that victory with a second-round TKO win against Derrick Lewis on the same card where Gane captured his interim title.

Dana White admitted he did not initially favor Hokit's approach, stating he disliked some of what the fighter said and may have intentionally scheduled tougher opponents to test him. Despite this initial hesitation, White acknowledged that Hokit passed every challenge and now deserves a shot at the undisputed belt after outperforming expectations.

Former champion Robert Whittaker has been critical of Hokit's prospects against Gane, describing his chances as "no shot" or zero percent due to the Frenchman's striking speed and power. However, Whittaker noted that if Hokit utilizes his wrestling background heavily on the ground, it could create an interesting matchup given Gane's lackluster takedowns.
