Hawkins Signs Two-Way Deal With Bulls After Memphis Waives Him
Chicago Bulls guard Jordan Hawkins has agreed to sign a two-way contract, according to reports from Shams Charania and Michael Scotto. The deal allows the team to add him without waiving an existing player on their roster, though they must release one of five players currently under Exhibit 10 deals.
Hawkins was selected by New Orleans in the first round (No. 14) of the 2023 NBA Draft after leading UConn to a national championship as a sophomore where he averaged 16.2 points and shot 38.8% from three-point range. Despite his college success, he has struggled to establish himself at the professional level.
In Memphis last season, Hawkins averaged just 5.1 points per game while shooting 34.8% from deep. He was traded by New Orleans in September and subsequently waived on Monday following clearance of waivers. At 24 years old with a career three-point percentage of 34.8%, he remains an attractive prospect for teams needing bench scoring.
