Mahjoub Grateful for UFC Debut as He Faces Faglier

On October 17, 2026, Javad Mahjoub faces Joel Faglier at UFC Fight Night in Edmonton. Both fighters are undefeated newcomers entering their first Octagon bout. Mahjoub (5-0) is a two-time Olympic judoka representing Canada who recently secured a submission victory and stated he built himself for this debut. He enters as an underdog with explosive wrestling but limited striking threat. Faglier (6-0) made his UFC debut in February after winning six consecutive fights, including victories against Cody Easy under the Fury FC banner. While Mahjoub may outmatch him on the ground due to superior grappling, Faglier possesses lethal leg kicks and moves light on his feet.
