Necropsy Confirms Bird Flu Caused Big Bear Eagle Jackie's Death

The California Department of Fish and Wildlife released findings confirming that highly pathogenic avian influenza was the primary cause of death for the bald eagle known as Jackie. Veterinary necropsies revealed the virus caused severe stomach ulcers leading to internal bleeding, anemia, and bacterial sepsis while rat poison detected in her system is not considered a primary factor.
