Apple Releases iOS 27.0.1 to Fix Face ID Crashes

Apple has released iOS 27.0.1 as an urgent bug-fix update for devices running version 27, addressing critical stability issues reported two weeks after the initial launch. The primary focus of this patch is resolving unexpected restarts on iPhone 18 Pro and Max models when Face ID authentication fails to complete properly. Users have also encountered a color artifact in photos captured at specific lighting conditions with f/1.48 lenses, while simultaneous opening of Notification Center and Control Center has caused touchscreen unresponsiveness across all supported devices.

In addition to iOS 27.0.1, Apple simultaneously pushed iPadOS 27.0.1 (build 24A446), macOS 27.0.1 (build 26A434), and visionOS 27.0.1 (build 24M372). The company also provided patch versions for earlier operating systems, including iOS 26.7.1 and macOS 15.8.1.
