Hyrox changes rules after world champion continues race while soiling herself

Indoor fitness competition Hyrox is revising event protocols following an incident in Beijing where world record holder Joanna Wietrzyk was permitted to finish her race despite suffering fecal incontinence. The Australian athlete, who won the age 16-24 elite category with a time of 1:01.23, continued competing after video and photos showed faeces running down her legs while she used shared equipment. Hyrox co-founder Moritz Fuerste apologized to those affected by the mishap, admitting that his team failed to react immediately during the event. He stated it is their responsibility to foresee such incidents but acknowledged they made a mistake in not doing so. In response to criticism regarding blurred protocols and potential health risks, Fuerste confirmed new rules and procedures are now in place to prevent recurrence without detailing specific changes.
