Hornets Face Injury-Ravaged Nets in Season Opener

The Charlotte Hornets and Brooklyn Nets are set to open their 2026-27 NBA seasons on Wednesday at Barclays Center, with the game scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET. The matchup features significant roster changes from both franchises following a dramatic offseason period in which Charlotte traded LaMelo Ball while adding Kon Knueppel and Brandon Miller, and Brooklyn acquired Julius Randle alongside draft pick Mikel Brown Jr.

The betting lines currently favor the Hornets by 1.5 points with an over/under of 219.5. Preseason analysis suggests that turnovers, rebounding control, and shooting efficiency remain critical factors for both teams as they begin their regular season campaigns.
