NBC4 Helicopter Crashes Near Deadly Bus Crash Site

Three people were killed and one hospitalized after NBC4's NewsChopper crashed in the San Fernando Valley on September 15, 2026. The incident occurred near two commercial buildings at 9151 N. Mason Avenue, less than a quarter mile from where a Metro bus collision had previously left two dead. Firefighters confirmed that the aircraft landed atop shipping containers and vehicles before exploding into flames. While one victim was found outside the wreckage, authorities are still searching through rubble to determine if others were inside or injured.
