Hawai'i Men's Basketball Dominates Hawai'i Hilo and Highlights AJ Economou’s Career Night

Hawai'i men's basketball team secured a commanding 98-46 victory over Hawai'i Hilo, marking one of the program's most lopsided wins since 1972. The game featured a strong team performance with the UH bench contributing significantly, including a season-low of 1,432 spectators. Reserve wing AJ Economou, who had rarely played before, stepped into an extended role and scored his first career three-pointer, adding seven points, three rebounds, three steals, and a block in just 10 minutes. Economou, known for his work ethic and athleticism, expressed pride in his development and staying ready for opportunities. UH coach Eran Ganot praised Economou's attitude and growth, noting his late-blooming talent and importance to team chemistry. The victory also highlighted UH’s effective ball movement, shooting over 50% from the field and assisting on 25 of 35 field goals. Harry Rouhliadeff led the team with 16 points, nine rebounds, and five assists. The game was a positive step for UH as they prepare for their upcoming match against UTEP, with the team aiming to build on their strong performance and develop depth.
