Giants Sign Greg Newsome To Three-Year Extension

The New York Giants have agreed to a three-year contract extension with veteran cornerback Greg Newsome, securing his services through the end of the 2029 season. The deal is valued at $46 million total, including $32 million in guaranteed funds.

Newsome previously signed a one-year agreement as a free agent before this recent announcement. His performance has been consistent over his career; he recorded 77 regular-season appearances for the Cleveland Browns between 2021 and 2025, accumulating 232 tackles, five interceptions, and a sack. He was traded to Jacksonville midseason in 2025 but returned strong form with New York.

In his first six games this season alone, Newsome posted 25 tackles, one interception, and six passes defended. The cornerback highlighted that press man coverage is his specialty, noting he aims to improve across all aspects of his game while playing in front of the New York fan base.
