72-Year-Old Man Shoots Off-Duty ICE Agent In Fresno

An off-duty Immigration and Customs Enforcement agent named David Gonzalez, who had been sleeping on a lawn in Fresno, was shot by a 72-year-old homeowner after allegedly assaulting the man and his daughter. Police reports indicate that around 3:20 AM, Gonzalez appeared intoxicated when he refused to move from the property line and physically attacked both victims before being subdued by an off-duty police officer who arrived shortly afterward. While Gonzalez is facing felony charges for battery likely to cause great bodily injury due to attacking two people, the homeowner remains under no criminal suspicion because he was legally in possession of the firearm used during the incident.
